Swain Comprehensive Pain Services to hold open house for new center at Swain Community Hospital

BRYSON CITY – Swain Comprehensive Pain Services at Swain Community Hospital welcomes the community to tour the new center located on the east wing of the hospital. The open house will be held 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, February 1 at 45 Plateau St. on Hospital Hill. Light refreshments will be served.
Services provided at Swain Comprehensive Pain Services include care for a number of chronic conditions, such as neck and back pain, headaches and migraines, fibromyalgia, cancer pain, diabetic and joint pain, arthritis, neuropathic pain, sciatica, complex regional pain syndrome, and injuries sustained at work. Dr. Mills and his staff will provide personalized comprehensive care plans utilizing medication management and a wide array of interventional procedures including spinal cord stimulator and intrathecal pump implantation and management. These treatment options are often combined with physical modalities such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, massage, and psychological services to optimize patient quality of life and overall well-being.
Dr. Mills completed a fellowship in pain medicine at Emory University School of Medicine following a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Mills received his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) at the University of Georgia.
