Swain Community Hospital welcomes new therapist to Senior Life Solutions in Bryson City

BRYSON CITY – Swain Community Hospital is pleased to welcome Daniel J. Schultz, licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), as the new therapist at the Senior Life Solutions program located on Hospital Hill. John Stoeckel, LCSW will retire later this year after being with the program since its opening in 2011.
Senior Life Solutions is an outpatient group therapy program designed to meet the unique needs of adults over the age of 65 struggling with depression and anxiety often related to aging. Anyone can refer an individual to the program including family members, physicians, self, or other health professionals. Individuals in the program have access to group therapy and appointments with Mr. Schultz and Gerald Travis, MD who serves as medical director of the program.
Schultz received a Master of Social Work degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee after completing a Bachelor of Arts degree at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minn. Schultz has extensive experience working with adults and children. Most recently he was in private practice in Waynesville after serving in operational and educational roles with organizations providing mental health services in western North Carolina and in Florida.
