October 23, 2017
BRYSON CITY, NC and SYLVA – Swain Community Hospital and Harris Regional Hospital will hold community forums in Bryson City and Sylva to share updates on hospital services, expansions of services through the 2018 strategic plan, and results from the hospitals’ quality outcomes.
The first Bryson City forum is planned for 3:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, November 8 at the Swain County Senior Center, 125 Brendle St.
The first Sylva forum is planned for 10 a.m. to noon Friday, December 8 at the Jackson County Library.
“This is the time of year when we look ahead to what’s next for our hospitals in the ways we serve our communities. We’re excited to share some of our strategic initiatives and pleased to provide an overview of how the care we provide is measured and ranked nationally,” said Steve Heatherly, CEO of Harris Regional Hospital and Swain Community Hospital.
Swain Community Hospital and Harris Regional Hospital have collaborated with leadership, Medical Staff, and employees on expanding access to care for patients in the region with the highest quality and the fewest barriers to care, such as those requiring travel outside the local area for services.
Highlights of the 2018 strategic plan will also be shared during each respective forum followed by time for participants to provide comments and ask questions regarding the hospitals’ quality results, strategic plan, and future plans.
